Williamson County has reported its 20th death from a confirmed coronavirus case on Tuesday, bringing the total number of cases up to 501.

A sixth Williamson County paramedic also has tested positive for coronavirus, said County Judge Bill Gravell. Twenty-two other paramedics are in quarantine, he said.

The number of new confirmed cases in the county increased by six on Tuesday. A total of 276 people had recovered in the county as of Tuesday.

The city of Round Rock continues to have the most cases and the most deaths in the county. It has 245 confirmed cases, including 17 people who have died and 107 people who have recovered.

Georgetown has the second-highest number of cases in the county. It has 62 cases, including two people who have died and 32 people who have recovered.

In the past week the number of new confirmed cases in the county has increased by 112. Those cases include 17 on May 12, 27 on Wednesday, 18 on Thursday, nine on Friday and 12 on Saturday. They also include 18 cases on Sunday, five on Monday and the six on Tuesday.

Additional deaths and cases from COVID-19, the disease linked to the coronavirus, will be reported on the online dashboard at www.wcchd.org/COVID-19/dashboard.php. The dashboard is updated daily just past noon.

Anyone with symptoms of respiratory illness, including cough, fever and shortness of breath, should contact their health care provider. It is important to call ahead before arriving at a clinic, urgent care or emergency department to avoid potential spread.
