Thursday forecast for Austin: We’re in for another cold one — but it’s December, right? What do you expect? Well, our normal high for Dec. 3 is about 65 degrees, but Thursday’s temperatures will likely stay below 56 degrees.
Despite plenty of sunshine and cloudless skies, chilly north-northwest winds of 5 to 10 mph with gusts as strong as 25 mph will make outside feel even colder, according to the National Weather Service.
Clouds will roll in at night, but temperatures are still expected to approach freezing in Austin, with temperatures as low as 36 in the wee hours. Those biting north-northwest winds will persist, forecasters say.
The weather service’s extended outlook calls for warming temperatures and a rain-free week ahead:
Friday: Sunny with a high near 60. Mostly clear at night with a low around 37.
Saturday: Mostly sunny with a high near 63. Then partly cloudy at night with a low around 39.
Sunday: Sunny with a high near 64. Mostly clear at night with a low around 38.
Monday: Sunny with a high near 63. At night, mostly clear with a low around 38.
Tuesday: Sunny, with a high near 67. Then mostly clear at night with a low around 42.
