Monday forecast for Austin: It’s going to be a good week, y’all! Thanksgiving is on Thursday and it looks like the Austin area will finally be getting some much needed rain, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday will begin with clouds, but forecasters expect skies to gradually become mostly sunny throughout the day. Temperatures will peak at a high near 70 degrees.
Clouds will return at night as temperatures decrease to a low around 60 degrees, forecasters said. South-southeast winds will be blowing 5 to 10 mph.
A 20% chance of rain will exist after 3 a.m. on Tuesday, forecasters said.
Rain chances will continue through much of the week, according to the weather service’s extended forecast:
Tuesday: Cloudy with a 20% chance of rain before 9 a.m. and a high near 80. South winds blowing 5 to 10 15 mph could have 25 mph gusts. Partly cloudy at night with a low around 56.
Wednesday: Sunny with a high near 72. Mostly clear at night with a low around 47.
Thanksgiving Day: Partly sunny with a high near 77. Mostly cloudy at night with a 30% chance of rain and a low around 65.
Friday: Cloudy with a 70% chance of rain and a high near 77. Mostly cloudy at night with a 60% chance of rain and a low around 52.
Saturday: Partly sunny with a 50% chance of rain and a high near 64. Partly cloudy at night with a 20% chance of rain and a low around 44.
Sunday: Sunny with a high near 64.
