Skies will be sunny during the day as temperatures climb to a high near 71 degrees, the National Weather Service said.
Normally on Feb. 28 in Austin, the high is 68 degrees and the low is 48 degrees, according to climate data.
Temperatures will decrease at night to a low around 45 degrees. Skies will be mostly clear, forecasters said.
The weekend will be delightful with more sunshine and warm temperatures, according to the weather service’s extended forecast:
Saturday: Sunny with a high near 73. South winds blowing 10 to 15 mph will last through the evening with 20 mph gusts being possible at night. Partly cloudy at night with a low around 57.
Sunday: Partly sunny with a high near 78. South winds blowing 15 mph could have 25 mph gusts. Partly cloudy at night with a low around 61.
Monday: Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain after 7 a.m. and a high near 77. Mostly cloudy at night with a 60% chance of rain and a low around 63.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with a 60% chance of rain and a high near 73. Mostly cloudy at night with a 60% chance of rain, mainly before 7 p.m., and a low around 52.
Wednesday: Sunny with a 40% chance of rain and a high near 73. Mostly clear at night with a low around 46.
Thursday: Sunny with a high near 72.
