Baylor Scott and White Health will offer meet-and-greet opportunities with pediatricians throughout 2020 at its Austin Northwest, Cedar Park, Hutto and Round Rock locations.
Attendees can tour the pediatric clinics and learn about services, meet clinic managers and pediatricians and learn about accepted insurances. Tours available by appointment only.

Safe Baby Academy
takes place Sunday
A Safe Baby Academy event will run from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center, 2400 Round Rock Ave.
The class will teach car seat safety, infant CPR, home safety, water safety and safe sleep practices.

Volunteer orientation
Saturday at shelter
The San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter, 750 River Road, will host a volunteer orientation from 9:30 a.m. to noon Saturday.
Attendees can learn about the shelter, volunteer opportunities and the animals. No previous animal experience required.
KYLE
Tree drop-off areas
offered through Jan. 15
The Kyle Parks and Recreation Department will offer drop-off areas for live tree collection through Jan. 15.
Locations in Kyle include Gregg-Clarke Park, 1301 W. Center St.; Steeplechase Park, 295 Hallie Drive; and Waterleaf Park, 628 Abundance Lane; and under the water tower near the Hays school district Performing Arts Center, 979 Kohlers Crossing.
Decorations and lights, including tinsel, must be removed. Trees must not have nails or screws or tree bases. The trees will be chipped and used in parks.

Jan. 11 bash features

A Happy Healthy New Year’s Bash will run from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 11 at the Bastrop Convention Center, 1408 Chestnut St.
The free event will feature over 20 health groups providing information on nutrition and physical health. Door prizes and demonstrations will be offered.
