Austin police are searching for a man who they say robbed a bank in Southeast Austin on Thursday.
Police received a call around 12:19 p.m. reporting a bank robbery at the Prosperity Bank branch near the intersection of U.S. 290 East and Texas 71.
Austin police officer Bino Cadenas said the robber, described as a man in his 20s, wore a “camouflage hoodie, black shorts and white tennis shoes.”
“In addition, he had reading glasses on and a blue surgical mask with blue latex gloves,” Cadenas said.
Cadenas said the bank teller received a note from the man demanding money. Police do not believe that the robber used a weapon. No injuries were reported, Cadenas said.
The robber took an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen heading into a wooded area located south of the bank, Cadenas said.
Cadenas said Travis County deputies, a helicopter crew and a K-9 unit were called to assist with the search on Thursday.
He said police believe no other people were involved in the robbery.

The incident was the sixth reported bank robbery this year, police said.
