San Marcos police are looking for two men they believe are connected to an armed robbery and a home invasion at the same apartment complex two weeks ago.

Police responded around 3:41 p.m. on Nov. 20 to an armed robbery at the Grove at San Marcos, 1150 East River Ridgeway Parkway, east of Interstate 35.

The victim said two men, who have not been identified, assaulted and robbed him in the parking lot of the complex as he was getting into his vehicle.

He told police that the men forced him into his vehicle, pointed a gun at him and demanded that he give them his apartment number. One of the men took his keys and entered his apartment, the victim said. After taking several items from the victim’s home, the robbers ordered him out of his vehicle and took it too, he said.

One man left the apartment complex in a 2006 to 2013 white Chevrolet Impala with dark-tinted windows, similar to the one used in a home invasion on Nov. 17, police said. The Impala has an obvious dent on the hood just above the front grill on the vehicle.

The other man fled the apartment complex in his 2007 blue Chevrolet Tahoe with custom black wheels. Both vehicles went southbound on I-35 toward San Antonio, the victim told police.

Detectives strongly believe both vehicles are currently in the San Antonio area, police said.

Police said evidence from the investigation suggests that the victim was being specifically targeted and that he was likely the intended target of the Nov. 17 home invasion.

Although San Marcos police do not believe there is a continued threat to public safety, they said residents should remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activity to the Police Department.

The robbers have still not been located. Anyone with information about the incident or the vehicles should contact Detective Aubry at 512-753-2306 or paubry@sanmarcostx.gov.
