Open house Tuesday

on St. Johns project

Austin Transportation is evaluating St. Johns Avenue from North Lamar Boulevard to Berkman Drive for changes to enhance the safety and mobility of everyone who uses the street.

A preliminary design will be available at the project open house along with the project team to answer questions from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Virginia L. Brown Recreation Center, 7500 Blessing Ave.

All open house materials will be available on the project website beginning Tuesday.

The comment period for this project will close March 29. Funding for this project is available from the 2016 Mobility Bond’s Bikeways and Safe Routes to School programs, the 2018 Bond Pedestrian Crossing program and Capital Metro.

‘Ready, Set, PrEP’

event on Tuesday

The Austin/Travis County Fast-Track Cities Initiative is inviting all to attend a presentation on the Ready, Set, PrEP campaign.

Ready, Set, PrEP is a nationwide program led by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services that provides pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP, medications at no cost to thousands of qualifying individuals, according to the department.

The presentation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at Austin City Hall, 301 W. Second St.

DRIPPING SPRINGS

Free dog microchipping

offered on Saturday

The animal control unit of the Hays County sheriff’s office will offer free microchips to the first 75 dogs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church, 203 U.S. 290 West.

The San Marcos Regional Animal Shelter will be on hand with some adoptable pets.

To participate, dog owners must bring a valid photo ID and have their dog(s) on a leash or in a crate. Microchips will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
