A motorcyclist, who was not wearing a helmet when he crashed into a parked vehicle in Northeast Austin earlier this month, has died, Austin police said.

Investigators said 40-year-old Alejandro Aguilera was driving a gray 2019 Yamaha MT-09 motorcycle in the parking lot of a Studio 6 Motel on Feb. 8 around 6:49 p.m.

The motel is in the 6600 block of the Interstate 35 North service road just north of U.S. 290 East.

The motorcycle crashed into a parked black 2011 Nissan Sentra in the parking lot and Aguilar was ejected from his motorcycle.

The Nissan was unoccupied, police said.

Aguilera was taken to Dell Seton Medical Center where he was pronounced dead on Saturday at 12:45 p.m., marking the 19th traffic death so far this year, police said.

Anyone with more information about the crash can call detectives at 512-974-6935. Tipsters can also use the Austin PD app.
