Pflugerville Public Library’s 12th Annual Romance Readers’ Social will celebrate the romance genre with a panel of local romance authors, romance-themed crafts and refreshments.

The social being held is from 2-4 p.m. Feb. 8 Attendees also have a chance to win one of two $25 Half Price Books gift cards, which were generously donated by the Friends of the Pflugerville Library. The event is free and open to anyone 18 and up.

Our guest authors will participate in a question-and-answer panel, so come prepared with your questions about their work and their writing processes. Books by our guests will also be available for purchase. (We suggest bringing cash for purchases.)

The Friends of the Library have donated free paperbacks by various authors for attendees. Craft activities include laser-cut floral pins, watercolor valentines and pressed flower bookmarks. Craft supplies and refreshments will be provided while supplies last.

This year’s social hosts five authors.

Julia London is the New York Times, USA Today and Publisher’s Weekly bestselling author of more than 40 romantic fiction novels. She is the author of the critically acclaimed Highland Grooms Scottish historical series, and the new A Royal Wedding series, featuring “The Princess Plan.”

London is also the author of several contemporary romances, including the Pine River Trilogy, her Lake Haven Series and her latest contemporaries, “The Charmer in Chaps” and “The Devil in the Saddle,” the first two books in The Princes of Texas series.

She is the recipient of the Romantic Times Bookclub Award for Best Historical Romance and a six time finalist for the prestigious RITA award for excellence in romantic fiction.

Kharma Kelley is a paranormal romance and urban fantasy author who has always been enamored with things that go “bump in the night.” She truly believes that finding humanity and beauty in some of the most seemingly unconventional places is part of the romantic psyche to her.

Kelley’s work has been featured by Cosmopolitan and has won several peer awards with her action-packed, steamy prose. A big fan of the Big Easy, Kharma tends to weave her proud Cajun heritage and values into her books. “Tall, Dark & Deadly” is the first book of her Agents of The Bureau series.

Kelly Elliott is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling contemporary romance author. Since finishing her bestselling Wanted series, Kelly continues to spread her wings while remaining true to her roots and giving readers stories rich with hot protective men, strong women and beautiful surroundings.

Her bestselling works include “Wanted,” “Broken,” “The Playbook” and “Lost Love,” to name a few.

Sofie Darling spent much of her 20s raising two boys and reading every book she could get her hands on. Once she realized she simply had to write the books she loved, Darling finished her degree and embarked on a writing career.

When not writing heroes who make her swoon, Darling runs a marathon in a different state every year, visits crumbling medieval castles whenever she gets a chance, and enjoys a slightly codependent relationship with her beagle, Bosco.

Christina Kirby is the author of the Warm Springs Trilogy, “A Face in the Crowd,” “A Light in the Dark.” She also writes young adult novels under the pen name Kirby Hall.

Kirby holds a degree in public relations from Auburn University and currently lives in Texas with her husband, two sons and a husky mix named Barney. An avid reader of romance and obsessed with good TV, Kirby likes nothing more than to talk pop culture with other fans.
