A pedestrian who was killed early Monday after being struck by an 18-wheeler outside Manor has been identified as 30-year-old Bruce Henry Chavez, Austin police said.
The 18-wheeler, a 2017 box truck, was traveling east in the inside lane of the 9100 block of East Parmer Lane on Monday around 12:04 a.m., police said. The area is just off U.S. 290.
The vehicle hit Chavez, who was in the middle of the inside lane, police said.
Chavez was pronounced dead at the scene, marking the 29th traffic fatality of 2020 in Austin, police said.
