Hays County officials on Friday reported two new cases of COVID-19, the illness associated with the coronavirus.

Health officials Friday afternoon said the newest numbers bring the total known cases in Hays County to 47.

Hays County officials said 34 of those cases remained active Friday, with one in Austin, five in Buda, one in Dripping Springs, 14 in Kyle, 12 in San Marcos and one in Wimberley.

Thirteen of those people have recovered from the illness in Hays County as of Friday, officials said. Six people were still hospitalized, they said.

Officials said seven of the cases were travel-related and 40 were not.
