Wednesday forecast for Austin: The day will be pretty blah, y’all.
Skies will be cloudy throughout the day as temperatures rise to a high of 78 degrees, the National Weather Service said.
A cluster of showers and thunderstorms will move into Val Verde County, west of San Antonio, Wednesday afternoon before moving toward the Interstate 35 corridor overnight, forecasters said.
As the cluster moves, rain chances in the Austin area Wednesday night will increase to 60%, according to the weather service. South-southeast winds will be blowing 10 to 15 mph.
Skies will be cloudy through the evening and temperatures will hit a low of around 67 degrees, forecasters said.
Heavy rainfall, with up to 4 inches in some areas, will be possible along and west of I-35, the weather service said.
Rain is most likely after 2 a.m. Thursday, which will see an increase in rain chances throughout the day, according to the weather service’s extended forecast:
Thursday: Mostly cloudy with a 50% chance of rain, mainly before 2 p.m., and a high near 81. Rain chances increase to 80% at night with a low around 57.
Friday: High near 61 with an 80% chance of rain. North winds blowing 5 to 10 mph will increase to 10 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Mostly cloudy at night with a 60% chance of rain and a low around 45. North-northeast winds will be blowing 10 to 15 mph.
Saturday: Mostly cloudy with a 60% chance of rain and a high near 57. Rain chances increase to 80% at night with a low around 51.
Sunday: High near 66 with an 80% chance of rain. Mostly cloudy at night with a 30% chance of rain before 8 p.m. and a low around 56.
Monday: Partly sunny with a high near 74. Mostly cloudy at night with a low around 60.
Tuesday: Partly sunny with a high near 80.
