The federal Drug Enforcement Agency is testing pills found in the last four days that are possibly related to the deaths of two people in Travis County, the Travis County sheriff’s office said.
Sheriff’s detectives responded to two separate incidents, one on May 14 and one on May 17, where counterfeit oxycodone pills were found.
The pills are suspected to contain fentanyl, the sheriff’s office said.
The Travis County medical examiner’s office is conducting autopsies on the people to determine an official cause and manner of death.
The pills could be deadly and the public needs to be aware of them, the sheriff’s office said.
