Three people in Dallas County are now presumed to have the new coronavirus and are being treated, county officials said Wednesday.
An Irving resident who recently traveled to a large, out-of-state recreational event is being treated in a Dallas-area hospital for COVID-19, the disease associated with the virus, the Dallas County health department announced Wednesday.
The person is about 50 years old and the case is unconnected to two other presumptive positive cases announced Tuesday, the Dallas Morning News reported. Those two other patients are a 77-year-old man from out of state and a close local contact of his.
Health officials have not officially confirmed whether any of the patients has tested positive for the virus.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control has so far confirmed 15 cases of COVID-19 in Texas, although several other people have tested positive for the virus at local labs and are awaiting CDC test results.
