Free testing sites

to be offered Sunday

Through a partnership with the Texas Department of Health and Human Services, along with the Texas Army National Guard, two free COVID-19 testing locations will be available in Hays County on Sunday.

One location will be in Wimberley, the other in Dripping Springs. Testing at both sites will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and an appointment is required. Site locations will be shared with those who register, go through a health screening and receive an appointment.

On Saturday, Hays County will provide the website and phone number for registration. That information will be available on hayscountytx.com, along with Facebook and Twitter, beginning at 8 a.m.

Groups award $410,300

to support nonprofits

Four hundred forty women of Impact Austin and 95 girls of Girls Giving Grants, g3, are awarding a total of $410,300 to 10 Central Texas nonprofits.

The 2020 grant recipients are Casa Marianella, $75,000 community grant; BookSpring, $25,000 community grant; Welcome Table’s Freedom Schools, $75,000 education grant; Kids in a New Groove, $25,000; NAMI Central Texas, $75,000 health and well-being grant; Family Independence Initiative, $25,000 health and well-being grant; Austin Child Guidance Center, $75,000 catalyst grant; Family Eldercare, $25,000 catalyst grant; Friends of the Children Austin, a $7,725 g3 grant; and Mother’s Milk Bank, a $2,575 g3 grant.

Library offering

curbside services

The Taylor Public Library has begun offering curbside pickup of library materials. Curbside services will be offered 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

The library asks that patrons place reserves through their library account at taylor.biblionix.com/catalog or call the library at 512-352-3434.

To pick up reserved items, staff will make an appointment with patrons. The library asks that patrons stay in their vehicle, unlock the trunk or back door, and staff will put items in and close the trunk or door.
