A 60-year-old Williamson County woman who has died of COVID-19, the disease linked to the coronavirus, is the eighth such death for the county, health officials said on Wednesday.
“Williamson County is joining another family in mourning the loss of a loved one due to the coronavirus,“ Judge Bill Gravell said in a statement Wednesday. ”While we are preparing to reopen in a safe and thought out manner, it is crucial that we continue to practice social distancing, as able, and follow proper hygiene guidelines to help reduce further spread of this deadly disease.“
In addition to the death, WIlliamson County’s coronavirus website on Wednesday reported six new cases of the virus, for a total of 293 cases.
As many as 169 people have recovered from the disease in the county, officials said Wednesday.
Officials said 11 patients are currently hospitalized and one is on a ventilator.
