The decision to rezone a 150-acre property for a mixed-use development next to a rumored Amazon facility in eastern Pflugerville has been postponed.
The Pflugerville City Council approved a resolution Tuesday evening to extend the timeframe to consider rezoning the 150-acre “Timmerman 2020” property.
The project is among others slated near the site of a future 3.8 million-square-foot distribution center on Pecan Street and south of Wilbarger Creek that is rumored to be for Amazon.
The applicant for the Timmerman 2020 land tract, which sits between the future warehouse and the Bohls Place neighborhood, requested it be rezoned from agriculture-development reserve to an urban corridor district. City documents say the designation is intended to create “vibrant and walkable neighborhoods and employment centers along Texas 130 and Texas 45 corridors.”
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the applicant is requesting the council consider the request and hold a public hearing on May 12.
