Williamson County is waiting on test results for first responders who believe they were exposed to the coronavirus, said County Judge Bill Gravell during a news conference Wednesday.
Gravell didn’t say how many first responders were tested after the county received 1,000 testing kits on Monday, which were ordered from a lab in Georgia.
Three Georgetown firefighters are currently in quarantine because of suspected exposure to the coronavirus, said Georgetown Mayor Dale Ross in a text message after the news conference.
The judge also said a nursing home in Round Rock has accepted three Travis County patients who tested positive for the coronavirus. The nursing home, whose locations authorities have declined to disclose, has a wing reserved for coronavirus patients.
A Google community mobility report showed that as of April 1 the county had been able to reduce retail and recreational interactions by 49%, Gravell said, though he added that “I don’t know how they came to that figure.”
