Comal County officials on Wednesday reported the county’s 3rd death linked to COVID-19, the illness associated with the coronavirus.
Health officials Wednesday morning said a Bulverde man in his 80s with underlying medical conditions died Tuesday night at a hospital in San Antonio, where he was being treated.
“Our prayers and condolences are with this man’s loved ones,” Comal County Judge Sherman Krause said in a statement. “Each death is a tragic loss to our community and reinforces the need to stay home and stay safe to help slow and stop the spread of coronavirus in Comal County.”
In addition, Comal County officials Wednesday reported two new cases of the coronavirus. One of the new patients is from New Braunfels and one is from Bulverde, officials said. Both patients, one is in their 40s and the other is in their 50s, are both isolated at home.
The newest cases bring the total in Comal County to 29.
Officials said the sources of the infection for the two patients are under investigation.
As of Wednesday morning, Comal County had 70 COVID-19 test results pending.
