Saturday forecast for Austin: Austinites seeking reprieve from a week of quarantining indoors due to the new coronavirus pandemic may want to bring along a jacket and umbrella.

The National Weather Service forecast calls for a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Saturday. Skies will remain cloudy throughout the day with a high near 54 degrees.

North winds will blow at around 10 p.m. and rainfall amounts will be between a quarter and half of an inch, according to meteorologists.

A 100% chance of showers and possible thunderstorms are expected mainly before 2 a.m. Sunday, then another chance of showers after 2 a.m., meteorologists said. Patchy fog will also settle over Austin after 8 p.m. Sunday, according to the weather service.

Overnight lows will be around 54 degrees, meteorologists said.

Sunday: Cloud with a high near 75 degrees. A 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 8 a.m., with a slight chance of showers after 2 p.m. There will be a change of fog before noon. There will be a 20% chance of showers before 8 p.m. with mostly cloudy skies and overnight lows around 64 degrees.

Monday: Partly sunny with a high near 80 degrees. Partly cloudy with a low around 64 degrees.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 87 degrees. Mostly clear with a low around 61 degrees.

Wednesday: Sunny with a high near 90 degrees. Mostly clear at night with a low around 66 degrees.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 89 degrees. Mostly clear at night with a low around 66 degrees.

Friday: Mostly sunny with a high near 83 degrees.
