Officials on Wednesday reported that a third person has died in Texas who was confirmed to have the new coronavirus.
A 64-year-old Plano man who had been infected with COVID-19 died at a hospital Tuesday from an underlying medical condition, according to the Dallas Morning News. His test result was confirmed after his death.
The first person to die with a confirmed case of the virus was a man in his late 90s, who died Sunday at Matagorda Regional Medical Center, about 80 miles southwest of Houston, according to the Matagorda County Emergency Operation Center. He was a resident of the county.
