A person who flew from Austin to Washington, D.C., on March 4 has tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, according to health officials in Buffalo, NY.
The person flew on a United Airlines flight, and the flight number was UA6028, The Buffalo News reported.
Those who were on the flight should monitor themselves daily for symptoms of COVID-19, officials said. They should take their temperatures twice a day, report symptoms to their doctors and practice voluntary quarantine measures to the greatest extent possible.
“We’re asking (people on that flight) to hunker down, stay at home, pay attention to your symptoms and really limit all nonessential travel,” Erie County Health Commissioner Dr. Gale Burstein said.
