Brushy Creek Polar Plunge Club: During open swim hours at Sendero Springs Pool, 4203 Pasada Lane, Round Rock. People ages 10 through adults with an annual pool pass can participate by swimming a minimum of 10 times. The pool staff will keep track. Free. For information: bcmud.org.

Through Dec. 7

Virtual Jingle Bell 5K: Participants can choose one day to participate and run or walk 3.1 miles. Treadmills are okay to use. Participants can then send a photo of time and distance for submission. Free to all participants. There is an option to pay $5 per person for Brushy Creek Life T-shirts, which requires registration. For details: bcmud.org.

Dec. 3

Babytime Buzz: 10:30 a.m. on Facebook, via the Round Rock Public Library. Each week, Miss Virginia shares a short video to share a fun rhyme, song or book appropriate for young children. Videos are uploaded to facebook.com/roundrockpubliclibrary.

City Council meeting: 6 to 9 p.m. via Zoom. People can register to speak during the meeting or watch online. People are asked not to register just to watch. For details: roundrocktexas.gov.

Dec. 4-5

Light Up the Lake: At the lake and festival area at Old Settlers Park. The event will include cold and hot air balloons, a light show, live music, holiday displays, food, refreshments and a yule log. For tickets and details: roundrocktexas.gov.

Dec. 5

Round Rock Market Days: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Prete Plaza, 221 E. Main St., Round Rock. Free. For information: mainstreetproductionsrr.com.

Candy Cane Swim: activities from noon to 2 p.m., open swim from 2 to 4 p.m. Families are invited for free holiday activities including a candy cane obstacle course, pictures with Santa, cooking decorating and treats. For information: bcmud.org.

Virtual Poetry in Motion open mic: 1:30 to 3 p.m. via Microsoft Teams. Poets ages 16 through adult, musicians and authors can share their work or just listen to others. Nadine Flowers and E.B. Staples will host. For information: roundrocktexas.gov.

Santa Cruise: 6 p.m. with lineup at the Brushy Creek Community Center parking lot, 16318 Great Oaks Drive, Round Rock. Santa will lead the car parade in the Sam Bass Fire Truck. People can decorate their vehicles and wear holiday outfits to line up and cruise through Brushy Creek. No registration required. For information: bcmud.org.

Dec. 8

Virtual Resume Review via Microsoft Teams: 4 to 5 p.m. from the Round Rock Public Library. Registration will only be open during this hour. People are asked to register only if their resume is ready to submit. A Microsoft Teams meeting will be scheduled with a librarian to discuss ways to help a resume stand out among competition and secure interviews. For information: roundrocktexas.gov.

Brushy Creek Garden Club: 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Brushy Creek Community Center, 16318 Great Oaks Drive, Round Rock. A relaxed group of amateur gardeners. Children are welcome. RSVP required. For information: bcmud.org.

Dec. 9

Pause and Play with the storytime librarians: 10:30 to 10:40 a.m. via YouTube, Instagram or Facebook from the Round Rock Public Library. The librarians will share a short video with a rhyme, song or book. For information: roundrocktexas.gov.

Dec. 10

Author Michelle Schusterman will discuss her book “Spell and Spindle” and answer questions about her middle-grade novel and writing process.
