The Round Rock Police Department SWAT team responded on Sunday morning to the Red Hills Villas apartment complex on A.W. Grimes Boulevard, where police said a man had barricaded himself in an apartment.

According to police, officers responded to a call of shots fired at about 7 a.m. No injuries were reported. Officers said they tried to negotiate with the man before he was taken into custody at 10:40 a.m.

It was not immediately clear Sunday whether or not the officers entered the apartment or if the man came outside and was arrested.

Traffic on A.W. Grimes Boulevard was shut down from Gattis School Road to Thompson Trail in the morning, but as of early afternoon, the road had been reopened to traffic.
