Saturday forecast for Austin: Happy Leap Day, Austin! Today will be mostly sunny and a bit breezy with a high near 75 degrees, the National Weather Service said.
South winds will be blowing 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph, according to meteorologists.
Temperatures will cool to a low around 58 overnight and skies will become cloudy as the sun goes down. South and southeast winds will blow 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph continuing into the night, the weather service said.
The rest of the weekend will be warm with high chances of rain in the begging of next week, according to the weather service.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy with a high near 76 and south winds blowing 10 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 20 mph. Mostly cloudy at night with an overnight low around 61.
Monday: Mostly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers after 7 a.m. and a high near 77. Cloudy into the night with a 50% chance of rain and thunderstorms after 1 a.m. and an overnight low around 62.
Tuesday (Election Day): 80% chance of showers and thunderstorms all day after 7 a.m. with a high near 73. An overnight low around 52 at night with showers likely between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m., with a thunderstorm possible after 1 a.m.
Wednesday: Partly sunny with a high near 67 and a 70% chance of showers and a thunderstorm between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. Cloudy at night with an overnight low around 45 and a 50% chance of showers before 7 p.m.
Thursday: Sunny with a high near 72. Mostly clear at night with a low around 45.
Friday: Sunny with a high near 69.
