OVERNIGHT: One critically injured in downtown nightclub shooting – News – Austin American-Statesman

One person was critically injured overnight following a shooting at a nightclub in downtown Austin, according to authorities.

Austin police responded to the shooting at around 1:30 a.m. Saturday on the 500 block of Neches Street, a tweet from officers said. Emergency responders said the shooting occurred at Cielo Nightclub.

One victim was taken to a local hospital with critical, life-threatening injuries, according to Austin-Travis County EMS medics.

Police arrested one person in connection to the shooting, the tweet from authorities said. The investigation is ongoing.
