Tuesday forecast for Austin: A near-perfect day of sunshine and mild temperatures awaits Central Texas on the first day of early voting across the state.

Should you find yourself outside in a socially distant line into a polling place in Austin, bring a hat to shield your eyes from plenty of sun as temperatures rise to a high of 85, forecasters say.

At night, expect skies to remain mostly clear but temperatures could dip to as low as 59 degrees, the National Weather Service says.

The effects of Monday’s cold front will diminish, allowing temperatures on Wednesday to rebound to near 90 degrees. But the weather service’s extended forecast calls for another strong cold front arriving Thursday night that should remind Central Texas that it really is mid-October.

Wednesday: Sunny with a high near 90. Mostly clear at night with a low around 68. South winds of 5 to 10 mph.

Thursday: Mostly sunny with a high near 89. A cold front turns south-southwest winds of 5 to 10 mph into north-northwest breezes in the afternoon. Thursday night has a 20 percent chance of rain after 1 a.m. Low around 57. North winds of around 15 mph could include gusts as high as 25 mph.

Friday: Mostly sunny with a high near 71. Northeast winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph. Mostly clear at night with a low around 50.

Saturday: Sunny with a high near 79. Warmer south-southeast winds return. Winds could gust as high as 20 mph. At night, partly cloudy with a low around 64.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a high near 85. Partly cloudy at night with a low around 63.
