A cyclist was injured Friday morning in North Austin while biking on a BMX track at Walnut Creek Metropolitan Park, Austin-Travis County EMS medics said.
Medics responded to the park, just south of the intersection of West Parmer Lane and North Lamar Boulevard, at 10:25 a.m.
The cyclist was rescued with a “big wheel,” which is a single-wheeled device used to move people from rough terrain or trails.
The cyclist was taken to St. David’s North Austin Medical Center with an injury not considered to be life-threatening, medics said.
