Hays County on Tuesday reported 16 new cases of people who have the coronavirus, bringing the number of known positive cases to 77.
Of those people, 23 have recovered from the illness, Hays County officials said. Two people are currently hospitalized.
One of the new people confirmed to have the virus is a girl younger than 10, county officials said. The vast majority of Hays County cases have been detected in people between the ages of 20 and 59, though some cases have been confirmed for people younger and older than that.
Only eight cases are believed to be travel-related.
