AUSTIN (KXAN) — October has Zilker Park booked and busy. We have made it through another year of the Austin City Limits Music Festival, but don’t expect the park to open soon.
The Great Lawn at Zilker will remain closed through the end of October. ACL clean-up concludes on Oct. 19, however, annual maintenance begins on Oct. 20.
The city says that the fall lawn maintenance includes aeration, irrigation, and nutrient application and is anticipated to end Oct. 31. This date is subject to change as the Austin Parks and Recreation Department will work as the weather allows.
Austinites can expect more closures from Zilker as the Austin Trail of Lights prepares to host its 2025 Grand Opening on Wednesday, Dec. 10.
