AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Wednesday afternoon, the Austin SWAT team responded to an incident at an east Austin apartment complex after reports of a woman being held against her will inside her apartment.
At around 10:42 a.m., Austin Police Department officers responded to the area of 1034 Clayton Lane, where APD says reports indicated the suspect had a gun, prompting SWAT crews to try to reach the suspect.
APD says officers were “able to bring the incident to a peaceful resolution,” although it appeared the suspect was not there when they arrived. The female resident was already outside of the apartment, as well. APD says it appears the incident was between people who were dating, and there’s no danger to the public.
No arrest has been made at this time, but the investigation is still ongoing. A shelter in place in the area around the scene has now been lifted.
