AUSTIN (KXAN) – This is the weekend racing fans have been waiting for all year. NASCAR returns to Circuit of the Americas for a weekend filled with concerts, fun, and the Echopark Automotive Grand Prix. If that wasn’t enough, there is a car and antique plane show in Georgetown for the entire family!
Weekend Forecast
The weekend will start great after a front flies through early Thursday morning. This will take our temperatures down a few degrees but give us a northerly wind. As the weekend progresses temperatures will start to head back up taking us to the mid to upper 70s by Saturday. A chance of drizzle and an isolated shower or two possible Sunday night.
NASCAR at COTA
NASCAR races its way onto the COTA track this weekend after pitstops in Daytona and Atlanta. Events kick off on Friday with a Fan Zone, multiple qualifiers, and tons of food. Saturday continues the qualifiers, a live auction for charity, and a roaming camper party.
Sunday is the big day with a pre-race concert featuring rising country star Corey Kent and the EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix. KXAN will be there all weekend long bringing you the latest information. You can also visit their website for more.

Stephanie Nichols 14th Annual Car & Vintage Plane Show
If you are still looking for a bit of car action, the Stephanie Nichols 14th Annual Car & Vintage Plane Show will take place Saturday, March 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Georgetown (spectators will be allowed in at 10 a.m.) This free event is for everyone to see and do including a swap meet, a skydiving team, and a Falcon Flight formation flyover. Plus, there will be plenty of food. The event will be taking place the Georgetown Airport.
