AUSTIN (KXAN) — For the second consecutive season, star Texas women’s basketball forward Madison Booker has been named an AP Preseason All-American.
The 2025 SEC Player of the Year and two-time first-team All-American has been the definition of dominance since joining the Longhorns on the Forty Acres in 2023. Last season, Booker averaged 16.3 points per game, 6.6 rebounds per game and held a 46.4 field goal percentage.
Booker was one of five selections to the AP Preseason All-American team, along with UCLA’s Lauren Betts, Notre Dame’s Hannah Hidalgo, South Carolina’s Ta’Niya Latson and UConn’s Sarah Strong.
Playing in the Players Era Championship in late November, Booker will have an opportunity to face at least one other preseason All-American when the team takes on Betts and UCLA in the opening round. If Texas wins the first game, Booker may see another fellow preseason honoree in South Carolina’s Ta’Niya Latson.
In the meantime, the preseason All-American and the rest of the Longhorns women’s basketball team are preparing for the upcoming 2025-26 season, taking on Incarnate Word on Nov. 3 to tip things off.
