Fluck began his career with the El Paso Police Department more than 49 years ago. He then served as the police chief for the city of Cedar Park for 13 years before moving to Taylor in 2013, according to the city.

“Chief Fluck has been a great asset to our community,” city of Taylor City Manager Brian LaBorde said in the release. “He has invested in the department’s capabilities, created a culture of service, and served Taylor with honor.”

Once Fluck retires, Taylor PD Commander Joseph Branson will serve as the interim chief of police until the position is filled, according to the city.
