AUSTIN (KXAN) — Steven Snell was sworn in as the Williamson County judge Monday afternoon at the courthouse. He began his tenure on March 27.
Before his new role, Snell served as the Liberty Hill Independent School District superintendent. He took over after former county judge Bill Gravell resigned in early March to take a job with President Donald Trump’s administration.
During Snell’s time as superintendent, the district grew by 126% in enrollment over the last five years, according to Williamson County. He served Liberty Hill ISD for the past six years.
“Fear not, and trust in God, for victory is served. It’s with that same energy that I take over the judge, and also, on a side note, announce my candidacy to run next time. I’ve been asked that question more than any other question,” Snell said.
He will serve until the next general election on Nov. 3, 2026.
