‘Checking for a pulse’: Attendees helped victims of Round Rock Juneteenth festival shooting

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — The Round Rock Police Department will be giving an update on its investigation into a shooting at Old Settlers Park that happened over the weekend. It is likely to be tied to the department’s search for a suspect.

RRPD originally said it would be briefing the media at 11 p.m. Wednesday. At around 11:10 p.m. police said that update was postponed until Thursday.

“The press conference has been delayed until tomorrow due to pending new information. We appreciate your patience and understanding. A new time will be announced in the morning,” the police department posted on social media.

That shooting happened at a Juneteenth festival at Old Settlers around 10:50 p.m. Saturday following a fight between two groups. The shooting left two dead and 14 injured. All of the victims were innocent bystanders, RRPD said.
