AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Thursday morning, the Round Rock Fire Department responded to reports of a vehicle fire near W. Louis Henna Boulevard and County Road 172.
According to the city, fire crews found a crash involving a truck fully engulfed in flames and a school bus. The city said the call came in at 8:19 a.m., and the fire was out by 8:28 a.m.
“All children had safely exited the bus prior to arrival,” the city said. “Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire.”
An adult was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the city.
According to Round Rock ISD, two cars collided, and one hit the district’s bus. RRISD said there were eight high school students on the bus at the time of the crash.
“The students and driver were evaluated by paramedics. One student required medical attention and was released to their family, and the rest were cleared to continue to campus,” RRISD said. “We are thankful for the quick actions of the emergency responders, and for district personnel who arrived to support our students.”
