TIMELINE: When will storms reach Central Texas?

The KXAN First Warning Weather team said severe storms and localized flash flooding are possible Friday and Saturday. On Friday, storms are expected to move into the Texas Hill Country between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. and reach the Austin metro between 11 p.m. and midnight.

Multiple Central Texas districts and schools adjusted their kickoff times for Friday to get ahead of the potential storms. Check below for schedule changes to Central Texas games, as of noon Friday.

High school football schedule changes

The Battle of the Lakes high school football game between Lake Travis and Westlake will start at 7 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m. Westlake will retire the jersey of NFL Quarterback and Chaps graduate Drew Brees at 6:30 p.m. You can watch the game on KXAN+.

The time for the Burnet High School football game was changed to 6 p.m. due to the “potential for severe weather,” the school said on social media. Additionally, the senior/parent recognition will begin at 5:20 p.m.
