AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Pflugerville Police Department identified and arrested a 17-year-old on Thursday as the suspect who allegedly made an “online threat” to an IDEA school in Pflugerville earlier this month, per a news release from the city.
Police identified the teen as Ryan El Mokhtar El Gourari. He was charged with felony terrorism, a second degree felony.
Attorney information wasn’t available for El Gourari. We will update this story if that changes.
Around 11:15 a.m. on Oct. 5, Pflugerville officers responded to the IDEA school, 1901 E. Wells Branch Parkway in Pflugerville, for a report of an “online threat of violence,” according to police.
Police then conducted an investigation into the alleged threat, which revealed that El Gourari “made the threat.”
El Gourari remained in custody as of Thursday. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
