AUSTIN (KXAN) — An injured owl was rescued over the weekend after it was spotted near a park in Austin, according to the Austin Animal Center.
The animal center said on social media the owl was “unable to fly or move away” when spotted at the park.
“Our team safely secured the bird, and it’s now on its way to receive specialized care at Austin Wildlife Rescue,” the animal center said.
If anyone sees a sick or injured wildlife in Austin, the animal center said do not attempt to handle the animal.
“Wild animals can be easily stressed or may react defensively when approached,” the animal center said. “Instead, call 311 so our officers can respond safely and appropriately.”
