FAYETTE COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) — An oil tank in Fayette County caught fire after being struck by lightning Wednesday, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office posted a photo of the fire on Facebook late Wednesday morning. It happened in the 700 block of Farm to Market Road 1291, just outside of Fayetteville.
The Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department and Fayette County Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
FCSO asked people to avoid the area.
