WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) – Williamson County placed nine children in their forever homes during its 14th annual Adoption Day ceremony, the county announced in a Friday news release.
“It is an honor as a judge to be part of the creation of new families and witness the joy it brings,” Judge Brandy Hallford said.
The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) estimate over 155,000 children across the United States at risk of aging out of foster care.
DFPS is actively scouting homes for more than 6,600 children, some of whom have special physical, emotional or medical needs, the release states.
Williamson County recommends those interested in adoption visit the DFPS website or call the DFPS hotline at 1-800-233-3405.
“National Adoption Day reminds us that every child deserves a permanent loving home, a place where they can dream, laugh and simply be themselves,” said Ashleigh Tulloch, DFPS adoption supervisor. “Each adoption represents hope fulfilled and a future rewritten.”
