AUSTIN (KXAN) — A new Tacodeli location is coming to south Austin next month.
The new store will be located at 1817 S. Lamar Blvd., according to Tacodeli’s website, with an official open date set for July 17.
This Tacodeli will replace the Mexican restaurant Masa y Más, which announced its closure earlier in June after being open for roughly 18 months.
The restaurant originally began operating in January 2023.
“We are excited for our friends at Tacodeli to continue the Austin taco story on South Lamar. We appreciate all your support,” Masa y Más said in a statement online.
The new South Lamar Tacodeli will feature a bar and a pet friendly patio, according to an Instagram collaboration post between Tacodeli and 365thingsaustin. This location will also carry expanded cocktail offerings and new signature cocktails.
The post also said Tacodeli will be celebrating the grand opening with $5 margaritas and giveaways.
Tacodeli first opened in Austin in 1999 and has since grown to nine locations in the city, two locations in both Houston and Dallas and one location in Plano.
