AUSTIN (KXAN) — Georgetown Police said a 26-year-old man faces a capital murder charge after three people, an 8-year-old girl and two adults, were found dead at a Georgetown apartment complex on Sept. 13, a news release said.
Police identified the suspect in the triple homicide as Raul Franco Jr., 26. KXAN is working to find an attorney representing Franco Jr. We will reach out for a statement on the accusations once that information is available.
Police said a Williamson County judge signed an arrest warrant on Friday for Franco Jr. It was served the same day. Police said that Franco Jr. was recently in custody in Williamson and Bell counties on an unrelated charge and his last known address was in Georgetown.
GPD believes that Franco is the son of Brooks’ roommate, who was not in Texas at the time of the homicide, the release said.
Around 7:26 p.m. on Sept. 13, police responded to 300 Luther Drive, which is the address for the Georgetown Park Apartment homes. They found three people with multiple gunshot wounds.
They were identified as Alonzo Hawkins, 34; Doneisha Brooks, 39; and Olivia Brooks, 8.
At the time of the crime, GPD said they identified a person of interest however no arrests were made
GPD said the arrest is a major development in the investigation. However, police are still seeking information about the firearm used in this crime.
