LLANO (KXAN)– Sunday evening, an individual ‘dove off’ a dam and did not resurface, that is according to a release posted by the Llano Police Department on Facebook.
The release said, Llano Police, Hamilton EMS, and the Llano Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of a male “who dove off the dam and did not resurface,” at Badu Park on Sunday, June 8.
After crews arrived on scene, Llano PD said bystanders found the patient and pulled him out of the water onto rocks. Once authorities retrieved the man, they discovered “the patient hit his head on a rock underwater and suffered a severe head injury,” the release said.
The patient, in critical condition, was then transported in an ambulance to Llano Regional Hospital, where he was later transported via helicopter for further treatment, according to the release.
“While our prayers are certainly with all involved, and especially with the victim and his recovery, we must also point out that the dam is not a place to jump or dive from,” the release said.
