AUSTIN (KXAN) – The weekend brings a theatre festival to highlight people with disabilities and their work, a fruit festival, and an annual marching contest. Plus, the start of two fall festivals and a way to pamper yourself and your pet.

Disability Short Fringe Theatre Festival
Theatre is for everyone, including those with any disability, and that’s what this festival is all about. The Disability Short Fringe Theatre Festival, which begins this Thursday, September 25, and runs through Saturday, September 27, at the Ground Floor Theatre, located at 979 Springdale Rd in Austin, is a safe space for anyone with a disability to showcase their work. All disabilities – from physical to mental, neurological, invisible, diagnosed, and undiagnosed – are welcome here. The festival will feature shows each night for your enjoyment. 2025 Texas Fruit Festival
Strawberries, blueberries, and more! The 5th Annual Texas Fruit Festival is all about the power of raw foods, including but not limited to fruits! There will be motivational speakers, guided meditations, sound healing, intuitive dance, and breathwork sessions. Plus, plenty of fruit. The event kicks off on Friday, September 26, at Casa de Luz on 1701 Toomey Road with a welcome ceremony and live music, and continues all weekend long. It wraps up with a nature hike and swimming. Capital City Marching Festival
Marching in the hot sun for days on end all led to this. The Capital City Marching Festival celebrates all things marching. Since 1993, bands from all over have come to Austin to showcase their hard work. This year, the event will be held at the Toney Burger Center on Saturday, September 27. Uhland Fall Festival
Fall has arrived this week, and so has the Uhland Fall Festival. It’s six weeks of fall-inspired games, activities, and attractions, and it all starts this Saturday, September 27. You’ll be able to enjoy photo ops, seasonal foods and beverages, shopping, live music, and plenty of pumpkins. Each weekend has its own themes. This all takes place near Kyle between I-35 and US-21. Wags and Wellness
Austin is known for people getting out and being healthy, and now it’s time to include your four-legged family. Taking place this Saturday, September 27, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Republic Square in Austin, Wags & Wellness: A Spay Day for You and Your Pup is the perfect way for you and your dog to be spoiled. There will be plenty to do, including relaxing chair massages, mini facials, and even blowouts. For your pup, there will be nail trims, dog acupuncture, treat and toy bar, apparel booth, and a splash pool for dogs. There will also be a dog/owner look-a-like contest. Indian Spring Ranch Fall Festival
It’s the kick-off for a pumpkin patch and fall festival just outside of Austin. The Indian Springs Ranch Fall Festival, located at 403 Elm View Way in Manchaca, runs all the way through November 1st. From checking out the exotic animals, grabbing a fall-themed photo, seeing the pumpkins, or enjoying some kids’ attractions, there is plenty to do. Plus, on the weekends, there will be balloon art and face painting, food vendors, and a bouncy house.
