KYLE, Texas (KXAN) – The city of Kyle could move forward with a 99-acre development, called Project Sahara, which would bring nearly 1,000 new housing units, parks and retail space.
Kyle’s Planning and Zoning Commission will receive a presentation about the Project on Tuesday night. The proposed project would be built at 100 E. FM 150, on the city’s east side.
“It’s really kind of a larger mixed residential commercial project that has amenities for everyone that’s living there and future residents,” said Melissa McCollum, Kyle’s Chief Development Officer.
The developer, Streamline Advisory Partners, plans to bring 330 multifamily units, 315 market-rate units and 330 affordable units.
“What’s really exciting about it is it is along our new, planned Chevo Pastrano Senior Parkway [formerly South Goforth Road], which is a new arterial that’ll be built along with this development to really provide additional transportation options,” McCollum said.
While not a small project, McCollum said rapidly growing Kyle has other similar-sized projects being developed.
“I think there’s always a need for more housing. We just have so many people moving to this region, into this area, and a lot of people are excited about calling Kyle home,” she said.
