AUSTIN (KXAN) — On Thursday’s episode of Inside Austin’s Agenda, host Grace Reader will sit down with Austin Communications Director Jessica King to talk about the city of Austin’s new logo.
That logo drew significant feedback from the public, especially online.
The new logo was approved as part of the Austin Strategic 2023 Plan in 2018. It cost an estimated $1,117,558, which breaks down as follows:
- Brand Vendors: $640,000
- Public Awareness Campaign: $115,000
- Consolidated city-wide design software for all departments: $75,582
- Support staff and legal counsel – salary and benefits for a Brand Project Manager (temporary City employee) and external legal review: $186,976
