AUSTIN (KXAN) — Jamie White, an Infowars employee, was the victim of a homicide in southeast Austin late Sunday night, law enforcement sources confirmed to KXAN’s Brianna Hollis.
“Jamie was a light we were blessed to experience as much as we did. He’s a one-of-a-kind man who poured his devotion in anything he did,” Infowars posted Monday.
Police were called to an apartment complex at the 2300 block of Douglas Street — off East Oltorf Street and Interstate 35 — around 11:57 p.m. Sunday. When police arrived at the scene, they found a man with trauma in the complex’s parking lot, APD Detective Leah Ratliff said in an early Monday morning briefing.
Ratliff said officers tried to save the man’s life before he was taken by Austin-Travis County EMS to the hospital. APD said the man died at the hospital at 12:19 a.m. of trauma.
“The initial investigation shows that White was shot and killed in the parking lot of the apartment complex in which he lived. The suspects then fled the scene. Detectives believe the suspects were possibly burglarizing White’s vehicle, when he interrupted them,” APD said in a release Tuesday.
APD has not released any suspect description but did ask anyone who may have had their vehicle burglarized that night to report it to them here. This is being investigated as APD’s eighth homicide of the year so far.
